Just a quick pic of my new raincoat...I love it and had lots of excuses to wear it last week! Despite the rain I've been feeling very cheery.
I even got made fun of in the grocery store today and it didn't bother me at all. In fact it just made me laugh:)
I was standing in line reading the ingredients of some salted, crunchy, chocolate bar, doesn't that sound divine?, when I heard the cashier say "Can I help you?" over and over again...until I realized she was talking to me.
Yes, I was being that annoying person that holds up the grocery line because I wasn't paying attention. In fact, I was paying such little attention, that I couldn't quite figure out why she and the people behind me were laughing so much.
Once I checked out and walked away, I heard the lady next in line say to the cashier, "Just so you know... I don't think anyone can help her!"
There was CLEARLY more going on here, like maybe someone stuck a post-it-note to my back, or I was possibly trailing toilet paper, but I soooooo didn't care! I walked out thinking that whatever it was, I made some peeps laugh today. And honestly I'm THRILLED that I don't know and WILL NEVER know, why they were laughing at me....ignorance is bliss and it seems it may have spared me pure, utter embarrassment!!!

Cute coat! I actually love rain! Ugh, that incident would have totally peeved me off, but great job not letting it get to you! Sometimes I wonder why people are so rude. Oh, well! :)
ReplyDeleteoh man, sometimes I have those moments when I forget that I should be behaving like a functioning member of society. Sometimes, it even happens when I'm in a conversation with one other person. Embarrassing, but oh well!

Today people laughed at me because my bf graduated, and as we were leaving the building, my stilleto got stuck in a grate and came up with my shoe!! SO embarrassing and more importantly, thank God my shoe was relatively undamaged!! ;)

ReplyDeleteThe way I see it.....if they don't lay with you nor split bills with ya, nor have special moments with you.....then it really doesn't matter if they think you are "BEYOND HELP". The nerve of some ppl...didn't their moms teach em', "if you don't have anything NICE to sat, don't say anything AT ALL" And your Rain Coat is THA BOMB!!!
