We've had some crazy weather changes lately, and the day I wore this it was ridiculously hot. I havent worn shorts since the last time I went on a beach vacation. I started feeling uncomfortable in shorts once I got pregnant and since then have felt like short shorts were inappropriate for a mom. I have no idea where I got this notion because mothers in California wear shorts often (when its hot at least) but in New York, shorts were saved for vacations only, at least in my age group.
When people wore shorts there I assumed they were a tourist or a teenager, unless they were working out or laying out at the park. My friends and I always noted this and found one major reason to not wear short shorts in new york: sticky subway/taxi seats...gross.

I like the look and of course your new creation - I am a picky one when it comes to shorts. They have to be the perfect length not too short, not too long.
ReplyDeleteIn my case, wearing a hat automatically puts you in a tourist look, that and flip flops and you're sold! Which is kind of odd as we are a country where its sunny most of the year.
A good hat is hard to find, but when you find a good one, the effect can be just amazing - and this one is fabulous on you! So perfect for summer.
