My Kind of Birthday Suit

Cardigan: Jcrew, T-shirt: Madewell, Skirt: DVF (here), Sandals: Aldo, Bag: Celine

So, I know chics really dig getting all dressed up... however, its just not in my nature to pile on the heavy make-up and pull out the heels on a daily basis. Comfort is always key and this applies to even my birthday.

In highschool, I went an entire year wearing keds every single day.  Most of my friends would never have imagined I'd have a fashion blog someday. They all shopped at the same stores, and wore the same adorable sundresses and jcrew pants.  My style evolved in a much different way. I loved feeling comfortable and free, and I hated looking like (and couldn't afford to look like) everybody else. Over the years I eventually learned how to mix, match and be creative.

I wore this little mixed number above to my birthday lunch at Urth Cafe yesterday. And yes, I did slightly change it up for dinner and even pulled out the heels.

  2. This is so cute. I love your style. I think it is important that what we wear be comfortable for whomever is wearing it!

Also, I'm in the same boat with the high school, not caring about fashion thing. I showed up to my first day of senior year in jean shorts and an old sweatshirt. My friends looked at me appalled.

  5. adorable outfit, I especially love the mini with dots...I think it looks great with or without heels. btw I always thought that one should wear heels only when one feels like wearing them...
